England advanced to the quarter-finals of the World Cup with a 1-0 victory over Ecuador.
Skipper David Beckham won the game with a superb free-kick fired home on the hour, but England struggled to find any rhythm once again. In truth, Ecuador offered little in the way of an attacking threat and it was a comfortable, if uninspiring, win
