Inside the Net has a cool podcast with Ruby On Rails creator David Heinemeier Hansson. In this podcast David Hansson talks to Amber MacArthur and Leo Laporte about why he created Ruby On Rails. David Hansson was working as a contractor for 37Signals and the project he was working on was called BaseCamp.

You will find out that David Hansson figured out that it would take too much time to create Basecamp in PHP or Java and he basically created this framework for Ruby. In the end it took him only 2.5 man months to create Basecamp by using Ruby On Rails. David Hansson is a principal with 37Signals at the moment and he is also the co-author of Agile Web Development with Rails Make sure to check out David's blog
